The plasticizing unit is the most sophisticated of all the parts composing a BILLION injection press. It is the result of over 60 years experience and daily observation.Particular care at all the stages of their design ensures our assemblies have an reputation in terms of material homogeneity and hourly plasticizing capacity. This is one of the main elements which sets our machines apart from other suppliers: Billion's signature. Various adapted screw profiles ar available according the each type of application : General purpose screw profile : Even though all screws seem to be alike visually, they do not offer the same levels of performance.Our general purpose profile matches 80% applications and is compatible with most thermoplastic materials. It guarantees excellent quality of the melt with one of the highest plasticizing rates. Twin flight barrier screw profile : Twin flight barrier screws have brought a proven answer to the requirements of very high plasticizing hourly rates without any impact on melt quality. Particularly used for polyolefin's (PP, PE) and PS, notably in packaging applications, they provide a much higher plasticizing rate for a given screw diameter, with the pressure and accuracy of a smaller diameter screw. They also enhance colouring agent dispersion.
